Meet Suzanne Renaud
The collaborator of: Overcoming Abuse
My name is Suzanne Renaud. I am one of the creators of the domestic abuse content. I am in my final semester of obtaining a Bachelor’s of Counseling Foundations degree at Bay Path University. In the summer of 2023, I will be starting the Master’s program at Bay Path University for Trauma Informed Counseling. I am also a published children’s book author. I wrote Positive Affirmations for Little Girls. I want to inspire all the girls and women around the world to have confidence and to know their worth. Besides writing a book, I also work in special education. Therapy and mental health are very important to me and I am an avid advocate for mental health in my local community.
I choose to concentrate on domestic abuse for this project because I was a victim of domestic abuse for many years. I felt trapped and thought that I did not deserve any better. I know the pain that survivors are experiencing. I was there. I want to help educate women that were in the same situation that I was in and help them find the strength to leave their abusive partners. You may feel like the mountains are too hard to climb in order to leave but they are not. Climb one hill at a time.
The content that I created was to help survivors and victims understand what domestic abuse is and the steps that they can take to ensure their safety. You deserve to be treated with respect and love and to feel safe.
